Title: Forest material to standard objects
Post by: RF2189 on May 18, 2016, 07:17:36 AM
Hi, i'm pretty new to forest pack.

I try to use the forest color on a standard object and do not work...I read that is not possible to use it on standard geometry. So my question is: Is there any option for converting an object to forest without moving it or changing it?

I've got some vegetation inside pots and i only need to use the power of color variance of itoo on this object but without changing it.

Thanks.

Alessandro

Hi,

You can use those as reference object(s) to place Forest's items to their positions. This can be done by using Creation Tools under Tree Editor in Custom Edit mode and choosing Reference Objects. Feel free to check our on-line reference guide (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/FORESTPACK/Tree+Editor#TreeEditor-Tocreateitemsonreferencegeometry) for more details.

Also, it's something easily feasible with help of following "InstancesToForest (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2929.msg14392#msg14392)" script (it looks in the scene to find instances of the objects in Forest Pack's item list. When it finds them they're added to FP, matching the position, rotation and scale). Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards,
