forest memory and vray proxies
« on: August 19, 2014, 06:47:14 PM »
i have a large render that i'm working on, thousands of homes on a very large site.
currently i'm using forest to populate  vray proxies  houses across the site. my problem is i want to keep adding geometry to the proxies...(driveways bushes, decks.)  and it's a laborious process to keep updating proxies. i'd like to use an xref object instead. this will keep my overall site file small. the only issue is  once forest is referencing a vray proxy is it saving memory? will my memory consumption blow up if i switch forest to point to geometry instead of a vray proxy?

I've added an entry in the FAQ about this issue.
Please, don't hesitate to ask if you have some doubt.
