Tree Planes Not Rendered?
« on: January 28, 2009, 08:00:21 PM »
Hi Carlos,

I am beginning to use FP3.1 for the first time (have still been using FP2 on older projects) so I am pretty unfamiliar with all the new changes (though I have read the change section in the helpfile).  I'm using MAX2008_32 with the scanline renderer.

I'm having a strange problem right from the start.

I created a spline, assigned the FP to use the spline and it makes tree planes.  I choose that I want to use 3-plane trees and it makes them.  I create a material that has a tree for difmap and omap and make this material 2-sided.

When I go to render a test render...  not all of the tree planes are being rendered.  (See the attached image... render is showing the alpha to better see).

Probably something I'm doing wrong.

Thanks!
Sincerely,

Mike Truly

Hi Mike,

Please, would you upload the scene or send it to support@itoosoft.com ?  Probably must be some problem with the material, but i need to check it.

And remember that you must use "Forest Material 3" for some features of Forest 3, as Random Tint or Fake Shadows. It works in the same way that the old "Planes Material".
