Change License Mode has disappeared.
« on: March 25, 2021, 11:46:53 AM »
Hi

Since Forest Pack 7, the Change License Mode is no longer installed in the following location, is this intentional?

C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\Change License Mode
Or are you just moving it somewhere else?

Hi,

This always has been a shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\LicenseMode.exe". That should have not changed in FP7.

What has changed, is the location of the License Manager, which now is stored at "C:\Program Files\Itoo Software\Common\LicenseManager.exe". Previously it was at "C:\Program Files\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro".
The idea is to have the same License Manager both for Forest and RailClone, to avoid problems because using different versions. The next RailClone update will include this change, in the same way as Forest.

One more thing, that would have caused the confusion: we have released today FP 7.0.9, which had a bug in LicenseMode.exe. The file exists, but it was triggering an error when used.

It was due to a missing registry key, but we have already uploaded a fixed package. If you have this error, please download FP 7.0.9 again from the Web Panel.
