Hi Team

As per the subject, I'm trying to create a new FP object as I always have

So I have a rectangle in my scene, I have it selected. I click on the Forest Pack button in create panel, then I click in Library in same panel
I select ANY preset, which results in Load Failed Error, directing me to console F11 to search for error, but there is no error

Populate from Selection is unticked
Generate is ticked On

Cant seem to create a FP as I'm use to...

If I switch to icon mode instead of generate mode, it lets me draw the icon, but then immediately comes up with Material Override Error, and turns the FP Icon red

Hi,

This is the second case we receive this week about this issue.
It's very strange, because most of users are using FP8 without problems.

This error is triggered when 3DS Max causes an exception in the assets loading process. This process involves several steps: merge assets from file, assign materials, etc.
We suspect something very specific (a third party plugin, a script ?) must be interfiring with Forest. But until now we could not identify what.

Please, try this:

1. Be sure Max is closed.
2. Make a copy or rename the Max 2022 configuration folder: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsmax\2022 - 64bit
3. Launch Max. It will create a new profile, clearing part of your configuracion and scripts.
4. Use Forest and check if there is some difference.

You can restore your profile at any time, with the copy or restoring the folder.

Hi,

We just found a case which would be related with your issue. Please, check this post:

https://forum.itoosoft.com/forest-pro-(*)/just-upgraded-to-fp8-error-on-material-override/msg35414/#msg35414

Probably you have old copies of ForestQtCatalog.dll or ForestQt.dll in your 3DS Max root folder, which are causing the problem.
