VRay proxies versus geometry
« on: June 16, 2015, 12:22:03 PM »
The question is simple:

Which works best for Forest Pack: VRay Proxies or Max geometry?

What are the benefits of either?

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Bill,

The performance is almost the same and there are only some differences in memory impact - as a general rule, we suggest to use regular objects. In all cases Forest transforms the data to VRay's native render primitives. In this "mesh or proxy?"  post you can find a detailed pros and cons between objects / proxies comparison.

Hope you'll find it useful.

Best regards

Thanks for the reply. I did try a search to see if it had been asked before, but I obviously didn't search for the right things.

Cheers,
