Regarding animation parameters
« on: June 09, 2010, 01:02:24 PM »
Hello

Id like to some help in understanding the Samples parameter in the animation rollout...i read the help file on it but im still not clear...what exactly does it do?
from help file it says

"The "Samples" parameters, defines the number of mesh samples....For example, Samples=4, Time=10 (using frames as unit-time), will take four mesh samples at frames 0, 10, 20, 30."

i guess what im aksing is what exactly do you mean by "mesh samples" ?

is there a way to apply random speed control to the animated meshes? (in this case im trying to use 1 one guy walking around).

Hi,

A mesh sample is a copy of the mesh at the specified time. So, following the previous example, the state of the animated mesh at frames 0, 10, 20 and 30.

There is not way to randomize the animation speed. But you can create several custom meshes with different speeds, and assign them to Forest.

I've attached a test sample. It also uses a Linked XForm modifier, to convert the displacement of an object (the plugin cannot recognize it as an animation) into an animated mesh.
