Title: Forest Presets
Post by: Cristero on April 01, 2015, 10:49:29 PM
Hi guys.
I was tying to build my own Forest Pack presets, but I'm struggling with a problem.
I've created a scene with all the objects that i need for my wild grass and then scattered in a Forest object to test it.
The problem is there are already forest objects inside my main Forest object (the one that I used as a preset), and they don't load up when I use the presets in other scene. It seems it can recognize only the single objects nested inside the main Forest, not the other Forest linked to it.
In addition, I get the annoying V-Ray messages "Scene bounding box is too large, possible raycast error", even if both scenes are in centimeters.

Hi, i'm afraid it's not possible to use nested Forest objects in the library. You must collapse the inner object to mesh.

Regarding the raycast error, probably your objects are placed too far of the scene's origin. Since Forest loads their own objects at (0,0,0), that is causing a huge bounding fox.
If this is the problem, there are two ways to fix it:

a) Move all your objects near of the origin.
b) Unlock the hidden layer "forest_templates", move all items near of your objects, and lock the layer again.

That should fix the warning message.

Hi.
I've tried to collapse the nested Forest object into a mesh, but they don't show up neither in this way.
Have you tested it?
