First, I am a really big fan of FPpro and it is probably the biggest reason I still work with 3dsmax.
Thanks a lot for the new beta and I am sure this will work perfectly as usual.
I would like to ask if the new OctaneRender 1.5 will be supported 100%
Also, I would like a suggestion about how to use instances and the octane properties in forest objects containing 3d trees.
What would be better and faster for me to choose
a) Use a 3d tree with octane instance ON and then use it in the forest object
b) Use a 3d tree, use MAX instances, then use it in the forest object
c) Use a 3d tree, then use it in the forest and then use forest tools-> make instances...
d) None of the above... please advice... :)
I don't know if this is a silly question, but I am really confused with all these "instancing" options...
Thank you in advance for any answer....

Hi Dimitris, thanks for your kind words. Glad to know our software is useful for you :)
Replying to your question, Octane Render is natively support by Forest, except some features (as Forest Color) that are not compatible. You can see the details here (http://www.itoosoft.com/forestpack/reference/rendering.php).
There is not any special procedure to use it: just assign 3d trees in Forest, create your distribution and render. It's not necessary to enable Octane instances or use Forest Tools.

So, there is nothing to earn if you choose to create instances one way or the other? I thought that we could use much less memory using instances....
I will try to make a test and see the differencies. Maybe I will come back for more info ...

Internally Octane creates instances of the Forest items on the fly. There is not necessary any manual process.

OK, I got it... thanks a lot!!!
