Forest pro crashes
« on: September 12, 2017, 08:35:04 AM »
Hey,
When I open a blank max, make a shape, create a forest and save it is all fine.
When I re-open that file and select the forest pro it crashes.
I get an error see attachment

Error loading bitmap
C:\Program Files (x86)\Itoo Software\Forest Pack Pro\geometry\images\(some weird squiggles)

We are having the same problem as this old thread
https://forum.itoosoft.com/forest-pro-(*)/constant-crash-and-error-message/
We are using 5.4.0 and same problem when I rolled back to 5.3.2

Hi,

Sorry to hear, you're facing these troubles. Would you mind to save and send us  the minidump file of the crash? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Hi,

Actually, most probably there's some script involved. I would suggest you to check scripts you have installed (mainly those under \scripts\Startup) and try unloading these to check if there's any difference (ideally test it on a clean 3ds max installation).

Thanks in advance for any further comments on this issue you can share about it with us / our user community.

Best regards,

The dump file should be attached to the first post.

Looks like it is a script. Pulled them all out and everything worked as expected. Will go through an test each one individually now

We have written some scripts to add attributes to an objects properties.
This is what was breaking forest pro.
