Problem surface
« on: February 25, 2011, 01:24:06 PM »
I am having problems with a surface over which I want to scatter some plants using FP. For whatever reason, the surface is 9 meg (only 72 vertices). Can you give me an email address so that I can send it for you to check out? I think it zips to under 2meg.
Kind Regards,
Rich

Yes, it is a strange issue. Can you try to collapse the surface to Editable Mesh/Poly and merge it in a new scene ?

Please, send us the file to support@itoosoft.com in order to check it.

Ok, we just found the problem, the surface has a negative scale applied (-100, -100, -100) and has it's normals inverted.

Is neccesary to apply an Reset XForm (Find it in the Utilities panel), and Normal modifier (check flip normals) to fix it. The problem is very similar to the described on this topic:

The scene size big is not related to this issue, but it is greatly reduced just merging the object on a fresh new scene.
