Title: Forest sobre muros verticales
Post by: OH4026 on February 11, 2015, 10:51:24 PM

Use surface uv mode instead of xy.
Object unwrapping helps too.

Saludos,

Thanks for your reply,

this is perfect, I had previously tried the UV option, but my problem is that I left not add a new area of paint to make IVY. This is the same as shown in the tutorial Modern Barn, part-5. 6:05 minutes
How I can I paint on wall is curved? You have a choice?

Regards.

I'm afraid it's not possible to paint in a curved wall.
Modern Barn tutorial uses a Forest object aligned with the wall's local axis (vertically). But the surface is planar, so it's possible to use XY mode.

In this case, if you need to scatter items only in certain parts of the wall, i see two possible workarounds:

1) Create a standard distribution using UV, then switch to Custom Edit, and remove the extra items manually.
2) Create a fake surface, keeping only those faces over you want to scatter items.

You can use 3ds max viewport cavvas tool to pain textures on objects:
Not as intuitive as native iToo brush, but it does the job:
