Forest with Vray Displacement
« on: March 15, 2012, 09:35:53 AM »
When using VrayDisplacement on the terrain mesh to add detail and ForestPro for scattering on the terrain, small objects like pebbles, grass... float in the air as of course vray displaces the terrain on rendertime. Is there any workaround?

No sorry. It is not possible to use VRayDisplacement with Forest Surfaces, because the terrain is generated at render time (after the Forest scattering process is completed).

so maybe use a terrain-dummy with a "decent" subdivision and max displacement modifier to compensate at least major terrain movement?

Yes, the Max displacement should work fine, and there is not problem using a dummy terrain for Forest.
