Issues with trees who are several objects...
« on: February 07, 2013, 10:29:02 PM »
Hi,

I'm new here. (sorry for my english!)

I've got issues with groups of objects.
I know that groups are not ok at the moment, but it's on the way in beta version. Not totally fonctional, the objects in a same goup move separately.

So, I want to know one big thing :
I've got trees with snow (like evermotions trees), so severals objects (2 or 3), and one material on each object.
When I'm triyng to attached objects to have one single mesh, I've got issues with materials... I've tried to attach with poly, but without succes...

Is there an easy solultion for my problem?
I'm not the only one who want to do that, so I think it must be a way to do it

Thanks a lot

stef

Hi welcome. Don't worry about your english, it is not my native language either  ;)

The group support was included to provide a solution for problems as this: http://www.itoosoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=1224.0

Basically, to distribute groups of plants that must keep together, but handling them as individual items for area and surface checking. But, in case of trees compound by several items (that always must be handled as a single element), is much more efficient to attach them in an unique mesh.

What problem do you have exactly attaching the meshes ? Is it a Max or a Forest issue ?
