Forestpack objects and paintings are wrongly scaled
« on: July 18, 2021, 11:41:35 PM »
Hi everyone, I'm working on this file and I have something weird going on.
I have two forest pack objects in the scene, for both I'm using some default preset (a gravel one and a layered one).
The scene units are set to cm, but when I load a forest pack library preset, the objects are more than twice the correct size. In the attached file I have "fixed" the gravel (scaled it to 50%) but left the grass as it came.
Also, when I'm creating a painted area, the icon is showed in one size but the actual painting is much bigger when I click.

Here's the file for download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y90u1iynknwx1b8/2021-07-18_mia.rar?dl=1 (no textures, just objects)
And I attach an image of the behavior with the paint area, in red I marked the paint icon, in green the actual painting that resulted from that icon size.

I'm sure I have a problem somewhere with units, but can't really figure it out.

Thanks a lot!

Hi!

Thanks for your message. Generally, this issue occurs if the Forest Pack object's scale is not 100%. This can happen if you select a Surface or Spline during creation that is scaled. In your scene, I see that the AE23_009_sand_001 surface used by FP is scaled to about 446%.

The easiest way to avoid this issue is to ensure that you Reset the XForm of any surface or areas before you add them to Forest Pack.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions
