Title: FP geometry that should be excluded/clipped is still being rendered
Post by: RC2292 on July 09, 2021, 12:06:50 AM
Hi,

So the best way to show this is using the end file of this tutorial:  https://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/combining-concrete-paving-and-grass

I rendered the file straight out of the box without making any changes whatsoever (see image attached) and you can see that the grass isn't being clipped where there is concrete.

I've installed the latest version and both max (2021) and VRay (4.30.02) are up to date.

Anyone have this problem or any idea how to rectify it?

Thanks

There were some changes in ForestPack, we might revert them, but for now please disable instancing engine on RC object:

Maybe I'm missing something or is this related?

You can see from the camera position that there shouldn't be any Forest Pack Geometry directly in front of it but for some reason it renders it.

Hi. This is different issue from original post, right?
What is seen on viewport and is rendered can be different (less iin vieport for performance gain)
That can be adjusted in display rollout.

If you still have any teouble please attach a sample scene and we will troubleshoot it.

Hope this helps.

No probably not the same issue Rokas.

It's strange that the trees seem to be rendering outsite the include area though? Which is where the camera is positioned.

Yes I've probably missed something from the display settings.
If you don't mind checking my FP settings when you have a second that would be really appreciated, thank you!

Hi. Thanks for the file.

It was limited display items issue. You can set display count to 0 to see full distrubution, as render sees it:

If You want to "lock" distribution in rendering as You see in viewport, go to ForestPack Item subobject mode and it will lock the distribution:
