FP3.2 release date ?
« on: February 19, 2009, 07:42:49 PM »
Hi,
I just received email about the new 3.2b version, and wonder if the amount of foliage ( not polygons ) can be `limitless` with proxys ( either MR or VR ones ), if so, then the dreams came true ... , also what about upgrade ? if we received 3.1 for free, does it apply also for 3.2 ?

We have created some scenes with more than 500.000 proxies (each one of 1 mill. polys) at camera's view. Considering that Forest builds only the objects visible by the camera, i think that almost there are not limits (only the render engine). However, i must say also that VRay works better than MR: it renders faster, uses less memory and is more stable.

About the upgrade: yes, it will be free for Forest Pro 3 users. We have not a release date yet, but i think that not more than two weeks for the beta.
