FP3 selection lag in MAX2009
« on: July 30, 2008, 09:57:07 AM »
Hello,
I have used huge number of FP3 trees in my scene(over 400.000 trees) and I have very unusual problem. When I newly start MAX I can make any selection through "Select from Scene" dialog (standard mapped on key H) but after I rendered my scene and I want to again select through the same function it takes a very long time(for 5 minutes dead MAX), it seems like a lag to me. I didn't  noticed this in MAX9 which we used for similar project before with FP3.

The new scene explorer seems to be really slow, as reported by other users:

But you can use the Max 9 explorer style editing an INI file:

We always use the old explorer in Max 2009. However, Autodesk just released Max 2009 Service Pack 1... i don't know if they have fixed this issue.

Thanks for hints Carlos. We have SP1 installed. SP1 is the only way how to use MAX2009 because we head many crashes without it. I will try to use the old one and give you report.
