ForestColor on xRefObject
« on: June 27, 2018, 08:56:15 AM »
Does anyone know the way or thread how to work ForestColor on xRefObject ?
It works on source scene or xRefScene, but doesn't work on xRefObject.
I can't find topic about it.

Tested enviroment is below.
3dsMax 2017 Update2
ForestPack Pro 5.4.0
Vray 3.4.02 and 3.6.04

Can You please attach a non working scene?
It should work with no special options.

Thanks for your reply.
It seems that xRefObject was converted to be merged because the source path has changed.
I attach both "SourceScene.max" and "LightScene.max", so please insert the "SourceScene.max" by xRefobject to the "LightScene.max" and render it.

You want to xref ForestPack object as it is in SourceScene.max file?

I get Max Crash error by merging with Your instructions.

Hi,

Big thanks for reporting it and all info provided. We are investing possible ways of material handling when the FP object is being linked as an XRefObject (the most usual set-up is using Custom Objects loaded as XRefObjects).

Using the XRefScene feature (working in a slightly different way) for this kind of purposes (when the FP object needs to be referenced) would be the currently recommendable way.

Best regards,
