Forest Pack Path (Sequence)
« on: April 11, 2021, 06:27:00 AM »
Hi every one,
We are currently adding trees and light posts to a road in a big scene.

we've created:
spline as a path
2 forest pack objects Forest001 Trees, Forest002 Light Posts
- Light Post Group with lights (Thanks a lot for Forest pack 07 support for lights)
- Tree

Forest pack Trees (spacing 10m) everything is doing well, nothing unexpected
Forest pack Light posts (spacing 5m) we added (Light post Group) and 3 empty items to take trees positions

Problem is:
some splines is doing fine some are not (they are same object) and we tried to detach every spline, add them all in Paths, but it is the same problem

We did another method but we have another issue:
We tried to make it One FP object with trees and light posts together and between the two trees one empty item with all random rotations ( and off course the light post rotated as well, which is not what we want obviously,

So what you think we can do in both situations?

Thanks for your time

Hi.
1
Would You attach a max file to check it?
2
seems like You could use RailClone+ForestPack reference for that as in this tutorial.

Thank you Rokas for reply,
i will check the tutorial, however i think the scene is too simple to make it with railclone.

Spline "issue"- when FP distrubutes on next spline it continues the sequence list, so that is why the order sometimes looks mixed up from what You expected.
While bushes always gets placed as expected because it has no empty places, Lamp post position is faked with assumption that it's distribution starts with empty segment.

Maybe it is clearer with example: If first spline ends with Red segment, then continued sequence is correct.

The more spline features we start to add to ForestPack the harder it will be to control, and users will want even more from it.
We have RailClone with advanced controls for these purposes.

I have not heard such a phrase "too simple for RailClone" before ;)

Hope this explains why that got mixed up.
