randomize on different levels ?
« on: June 25, 2013, 02:19:41 PM »
Carlos, I have 3 story level building and I want to propagate people on every floor. I'm selecting every floor surface but then on all floors the crowd have same propagation. It's not random on every floor. How I can make crowd look different on each level (I knwo I can create separate crowds for each level but is there easy way to do it with one forest instead of 3, cause is I will have 10 story building I will shoot myself :)

Using XY Surface mode is not possible, because Forest uses the position of each item to compute its random seed.

Instead, on UV Surface mode you would shift slightly the UVW coordinates in each level. That will generate different items.

Thank you Carlos, I will use UV instead. One more thing when using spline to exclude some part of crowd, after assigning spline crowd only appears on bottom floor and all above is gone.

I cannot reproduce this problem here. If you have a test scene, please upload it.
