You do some beta testing before release your products
« on: November 14, 2012, 07:10:56 PM »
Dear Sirs,

I think you need valid beta testers to check your software.

I've lost 2 days of work using your latest release of Forest Pack Pro

I used Vray (latest 2.3.01) ad two networked workstations

Well...doing a batch list of renders with Max 2010 64 using the batch render feature all renders are wrong!!!

All 2d billboard people aren't facing the camera!!!! All render that I've generated have truncated billboards, all buckets that rendered the people have wrong orientation.

Please check your software!!!

I apologize by the inconveniences, but unfortunately it is no possible to guarantee that a particular software is free of bugs, under all possible conditions.

Forest is a very complex piece of software, that must work handle: 2D billboards, 3D Objects, proxies, backburner, distributed rendering, VRay, Mental Ray, and much more.... all these under 14 different versions of Max, and implementing tons of features. So, the number of combinations and potential issues is unlimited.

We try to test our plugins carefully, and we public several betas by not less than two months, before releasing the stable version. But unfortunately never is enough.

In this case, i suppose you are using distributed rendering with VRay and batch rendering. This combination is specially problematic with the Auto-camera feature, because the way that vrayspawner works: we use a Max notification to detect the camera change in Forest, but i think the VRay nodes don't handle it when working as distributed rendering.

Please, confirm us if this is the case, so we can find a workaround.
