Title: Help with distribution on a complex surface
Post by: OU9561 on February 10, 2022, 10:17:26 PM
Hi everyone!
I'm doing this rock distribution on a complex surface that was generated on a different software.

The problem I'm having is that if I set it to XY UV Tranform, it doesn't work, and if I set it to UV I get this result where the distribution is more dense on the top and very sparse on the bottom.
I'm really not that familiar with Unwrap UVW so I don't know how to make it more evenly distributed, does any one have any tips or pointers?

thank you!

To fix this I would try the following

- Add a Unwrap UVW modifier
- Open the UV Editor
- Switch to face mode and press Ctrl + A to select them all
- Press the planar mapping butting. This'll create a basic UVW map and remove any unwanted seams
- Press the Quick Peel button to relax the map and regularise the UVW distribution.

I hope that helps.
