Light Instances not visible in Viewport
« on: December 11, 2025, 09:26:15 am »
I haven't used FP in a while. I noticed that the light instances don't show up in the viewport unless an FP Object is selected. Is this normal?

No, it's not normal. We used some tricks to draw lights using their native geometry, but it seems that causes problems in latest Max versions.
Please, use the Display->Proxy mode. That draws light instances as a marker dot.

If we cannot fix it, probably we'll remove that drawing method in next updates, to avoid problems.

Yes, I noticed that proxy converts to a dot.
Ok. I'll use some geometry (Cone, Pyramid) in a Group with a Light Source to display.
Thank you.

Hello, we recently started using FP to instance lights in our scene files. It was very convenient to actually see the lights. Any chance of bringing back the ability to display the lights? Maybe adding a new toggle option and popup warning regarding issues with nitrous. Thanks!
