Title: Honeycomb?
Post by: Ihno on May 22, 2017, 12:07:04 PM
Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to use fp to make a honeycomb.
For my project I need to make a load still images from different state's of honeycombs.
Therefor I need a handy way to change the models and textures of the single combs within the honeycomb, with the use of some kind of volume or spline area, forest is great for this.
But Im struggling to put the honeycomb together with fp.
I'd need some kind of an second row offset.

I can make a perfect honeycomb by using railclone, cut a tile able part out of it and use that in fp.
But if I then use a spline area to change the models It'll of course lead to combs which are cutted in half where model a and model b sitting next to each other.

Any Ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. This can be done in Forest Pack by adjusting the distribution patterns. Change the map type to Grid 2 and then turn off Density > Lock Aspect Ratio. You can then use the X and Y Density parameters to get the correct pattern.

Attached is a sample file. I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Many Thanks,

Paul
