Title: How to quickly select objects from Forest Pack?
Post by: EstebanAV on July 11, 2023, 04:09:59 AM
Hi! While working with FP, I was looking for a way to put some order and organization to a heavy scene I own.
So, is there a quick and practical way to only select the objects/geometry from a forest or even forest set object? Instead of looking for them in scene explorer and pick them up manually?

I was imagining to be able to select these objects and put them inside a layer for example. Especially if I'm not using a library preset. What I've found about this topic is the other way around. Creating a forest object from selection but I actually need the opposite without instantiate. Maybe a silly question but I haven't found the answer. If it doesn't exist, maybe could be an improvement? Thanks in advance.

Hi

You should have a quad menu option to select dependencies - You can either choose to select geometry, surface, area, or all the dependencies. To select multiple entries, you can hold down Control.

I hope that helps,

This is pure gold! Phew... Now I kinda feel bad for not seeing this before. Especially if it's the same thing to select from a railclone.... douh!
Thanks a lot Paul. Cheers

Doh! Moment for me! When it was added?

It has been available for a long time.
According to my release notes, it was added to Forest Pack 4.
