How to Scatter Only One Object Per Surface in Forest Pack
« on: May 10, 2025, 03:11:54 pm »
Hi everyone,

I'm working on a scene in 3ds Max using Forest Pack, and I need to scatter only one object per surface (or per element). I'm not looking for a dense distribution, just a single instance of the object on each surface centre. See image below

Is there a specific setting or mode in Forest Pack that allows for this kind of control? I've looked into the Distribution and Custom Edit modes but I’m not sure which one is best for this use case.

Any help or workflow tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Arslan

Hi,
This can be done using reference mode, please review the links below. If there is a problem while scattering using this mode, additional operations such as resetting xform or centering the pivot point may be required for the referenced surface objects.
