How to slowly decrease density?
« on: January 21, 2020, 12:27:22 PM »
Hi,
Is there a way to have distribution density changing gradualy along a surface?
(ie the left part is very dense and the right part wery scattered, and the middle slowly fading from one to the other)

Using a fallof in Distribution>Image>Map slot doesnt work as its converted to black and white, it just creates 2 parts with no grading.

You can multiply noise with gradient map for this effect:

While I have Your attention, another flexible solution would to use Spline to drive the density:

attached maxfile.
Hope this helps.
