Title: Include/Exclude splines as list
Post by: George on January 25, 2011, 04:18:55 AM
Would be good to have the option to select multiple include/exclude splines, like the surface list.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will take a look to it, probably adding some additional functionality as well.

We just now working at this. ;)

Although it will take some time, because we are rewriting completely the area algorithms.

also whhile youre at it can i request possibility to make objects in the scene working as exclusions? preferably with ciuved falloffs :) that would really be awesome. (apparently vray distance map has major performance issues when used in "inside solid" mode...)

We are working on this feature as well. As you pointed out, the challenge is how to implement it without a major performance hit, specially using complex meshes.

well technically it could just find points on a surface and use it as exclude spline. as it doest have to work in 3d mode like vray distance map... just a thought :)

Yes, unfortunately there is not a simple algorithm to get the contour spline for non-convex meshes. We are evaluating several solutions for these type of objects, since we want to provide a real-time solution (if possible).

sounds great :)
