problem rendering nested FPP objects.
« on: February 03, 2012, 10:38:03 AM »
I'm trying to follow the tutorial on the site while working on creating a field of grass. I have a FPP object scattering a bunch of grass clumps to make a roughly 1m x 1m section of grass.

I have another FPP object that is using hte first one as source geometry.  It only seems to render the shadows of the objects though.  If I leave all else the same and substitute a regular mesh as the source geo it all renders fine.

I have set the render mode of the source FPP as "mesh", and also tried the same with the distributing FPP object, but no joy. Anything else I can try?

Please, be sure the source Forest object has not collision detection enabled. That would generate strange results, because the rendering result is different from viewport.

If not, send us the scene and we will take a look to it.

That's probably it - there is collision enabled in the source. I will try it without.

Thanks as always for the great (and fast) support!
