You should use RailClone for wall tiles, or is it background foliage that You are interested in?

Hi,

First let to say, as Rokas has pointed out, that the RailClone plug-in is much more suitable for tasks like that. I would highly suggest you to use it for these purposes. You can check a sample of common bond pattern on this related post.

Anyway, as the pattern is simple and regular, it's possible to archive that also with Forest Pack. Just having in mind, that's developed mainly to distribute a huge amount of geometry and there is no specific tool for "joining items on the corner" / "slicing" or so. These areas need be solved by another Forest object(s) as on attached images. Feel free to check attached scene with showing that workflow. Hope that helps.

Kind regards,

Thank you guys. I have a railclone as well but after quick semi succesfull attempts in FP I was sure that it can be done quickly as this is current project and I do not have much time for learning RC editior system. Michal, could build a quick setup in RC like you did in FP?Please....:)

Hi,

Please find attached an example file. It uses more-or-less the same technique as the in the forum link shared by Michal. The only difference is that the Sequence operator is used in both the Left and Right inputs and the default mode has been set to adaptive to avoid sliced tiles. Please let us know if you have any questions about the file or using RailClone.

Many thanks,

Paul

Thank you Paul! You guys are great. I have recently used FP for commercial project the and it was time and quality saver:) I will post it when NDA expire. Still a lot to learn about it as it has great potential.

Best,

Paul,
thank you again for your help. There is one thing I cannot fix or maybe it cannot be fixed. It works great with stright line but when I want to use more complex spline I am getting uneven corners. Please have a look at the attached image which explains the problem. Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Tomek,

Please take a look at the attached file. I've added the sequences to the corner input to fix the array in this area.

Many thanks,

Paul

Hi,

If wanted, there is also another quick workaround by switching the Array 2S generator's Mode under Rules from Adaptive to Tile and having set the Bevel Mode to Symmetric.

Cheers,
