Issue with closed concave spline?
« on: August 15, 2016, 04:39:21 PM »
Hi!

First of, I use Forest Pack 5.05 and will update soon, but  :)

Having a problem with a spline that is around a surface. The scene looks like attached picture.
I've made a dummy object close to the problemetic elemen to show the area.
Everything is modeled in Rhinoceros and then exported, which is part of the workflow.

I'am following this tutorial since I use Vray GPU. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-IvNfcW1e0&list=LLZGX5ZuZt2KpNnKrkBrEGRQ&index=1

I've come up with a solution for now by making 2 forest pack objects, one for the border and one for the bigger clumps of grass in the middle.
But would like to make it the way it's done in the tutorial.

I also attach a simple 3ds Max 2015 scene.

Thanks in advance

Karl

Hi Karl,

Thanks for contacting us and for supplying scene files. I've taken a look and I can see that the spline around the problematic area is not closed.

I've closed and welded it and it seems to be working fine now.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.

Many Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul!

Thank you very much for taking a look, it indeed solves my problem.

The issue is somewhere on my export from Rhino as 2004 polylines in dwg format or somewhere else outside 3ds Max.

I did find the auto close button in the editable spline which automates the process if this happens again for me, or someone else I attach a picture.

Again thanks again much appriciated for fast response!
