Issue with forest clustering, after update
« on: October 07, 2025, 03:10:59 pm »
Hello,

We have recently upgraded from forest 7 to forest 9 and have encountered an issue, see image 1
Can someone can give an insight of what's going on.

the old version clustering was producing a nice distribution as seen in image 1, while in the new one the clustering is gone.

Note:
In the geometry panel we got the mesh that are similar/variation with the same color, meaning bedstraw and gras variation will have the same color. see image 2
In our tests, making everything a random color, which is done by removing all and adding them back does restore some of the clustering in a better way, yet its not the same. Changing the colors where variations share the same color once more ruins the clustering.

The clustering is set to 250, with 50% on all 3 settings see image 3.

Any clues whats going on or if there is any fast fix?

Hi,

If possible, please send us your scene and we’ll take a look at it here. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
