Issue with LOD distance

Hi,
First of all, i don't understand why I can't post in the pro section. I have 3 FP licences...
I have an issue with the LOD system. You can check the mp4 attached.
The LOD "max distance" seems to not working properly. I'm working with FP v.7.2.1 and 3dsmax 2020.3
Maybe I'm doing something wrong... Tell me if you need more information.
Any help would be great ;)

Hi,

This would appear to be a small bug when using automatic camera assignment that we'll have to look into. If you update to the most recent version of Forest Pack, then you'll find that we have reintroduced the ability to manually select a camera in the Camera rollout. When you do this, LOD appears to work as expected. Alternatively, you might find that firing a render will automatically assign the camera, and then LOD will work as expected too.

So I upgraded my FP to the last version, select my Camera in the LOD parameters. The LOD seems to work but my viewport became very very laggy... even if I replace my trees with primitives...
Any ideas ?

Please check that enable on viewport is disabled. This will prevent the frustum culling and other calculations from taking place in the viewports and should speed up interactivity.

I did it, but nothing change... It's very annoying because I need it to switch between my Proxys and Highpoly for good previz and render by just changing the "Override max. distance" value. It really boosts my workflow.

Hi,

In this case I don't think the issue is connected with the camera or LODs, but with the fact that the surface is being resampled on every frame. This is because you have the Surface set to auto update. Because your surface isn't animated, you can safely disable this setting and it should run much faster.
