That sounds bad. If You would be willing to give it some time, please try following:
Please download process explorer
During the middle of the freeze, run the Process Explorer, find the "3dsmax.exe" process, select it, go to Process > Create Dump > Create Minidump... and save the file.
Compress it and send
to us using wetransfer. We will take a look into it.
Please make sure You are using 3dsmax with latest service pack. Otherwise we can't analyze it.
