Forest Edge creating unwanted alpha
« on: March 31, 2022, 09:45:57 PM »
Hi all,

I've got a setup of a forest pack with some meshes added. I've added a spline area which is using edge mode to trim the plants. I've turned off the surface. But I'm getting some odd things happen. It appears that where a plant is being trimmed by the spline, it is showing through to the background, as you can see  below the blue patch on the flowers is the background and in the alpha channel too it's black indicating the background, but there is a building behind it. Any idea what's causing this? I'm using VRay 5 and Forest Pack 7.1.2

1. RGB

2. Alpha

I've tried adding forest colour to them and rendering interactive and fully but it does the same thing.

PS> My picture links are to a google drive but they don't seem to be working, any ideas how to make them appear?

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

You can attach images directly to the post.
What you describe is usually caused by low "max transp levels" in the V-ray renderer. Just increase to e.g. 150.
