License activation after renewal?
« on: July 24, 2015, 07:29:17 PM »
We recently purchased renewals for Forest Pro and Rail Clone.  Would this cause the existing licenses to become inactive?  We do not have direct access to our server.  I have been putting off the red tape to update until updating 3ds Max also.  Today the old licenses became inactive.  I was under the impression that expired licenses would only prevent getting updates.

No, there is not relation between renewals and license deactivations. Theorically that should happen only by a hardware or BIOS change.

A different issue is the activation procedure which must be done using the renewal code. This procedure is necessary to update the license subscription date, but even if this step fails or is skipped, the license is not deactivated.

Have you verified that licenses are inactive in the License Manager, or do you get an error using the plugins ?

Unfortunately I do not have direct access to the license manager.  It resides on a server that is controlled by our IT department.  I made a call to the help desk when I was not able to obtain a license.  They told me the licenses were showing not active.
