Hi,
we have license problems after Upgrading the license manager to 1.50 and forest Pack from 6.22 to 7.11. (also tried 7.12)
now after starting 3Ds Max 2016 the users running into a Winsock error 10060 (Timeout I think) on the server the license manager application hangs during this and generates Winsocks Error 10053 and from time to time a Message pops up "Error connecting activation server"
But the log also shows that a license is send to the client. when the client starts a second try getting the license it usually works instantly and it works as long as 3ds max runs.
the server log looks like this:
30/06/2021 18:49:21 W Client Thread Exception, Winsocks Error 10054
30/06/2021 18:50:31 I Lease time expired for 0.0.0.0, erase it
30/06/2021 18:55:01 I Sending license xxx to 192.168.11.25
30/06/2021 18:55:01 I Sending license xxx to 192.168.11.25
30/06/2021 18:55:01 W Client Thread Exception, Winsocks Error 10053
30/06/2021 18:55:01 I Sending license xxx to 192.168.11.25
There is no firewall between the client and the license manager. I disabled the Anti-Virus, deleted and reactivated the licenses, deinstalled the manager and cleaned the registry and folders, rebooted the server and reinstalled the manager.
is there a way to change the timeout? or anything else i can try?
regards

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear, you're facing these troubles. Which error message do you get in 3ds max (a screenshot would be ideal)? Sometimes, it's better to set the IP of the server "manually" rather than finding it automatically. That can be done during the installation in the Configure the Network License window. The Host field should contain the IP address (or the hostname) of the corresponding licensing server computer. In case of any further troubles with it, would you mind sending us (https://forum.itoosoft.com/faq/how-to-send-a-file-to-itoo-software/) the entire logfile from the Itoo Software License Manager - License Server tab - View Log... to analyze it here? Thanks in advance. I hope that helps you and please let us know that's all working fine or you are still facing trouble with it.
Best regards,

Hi,
the license Server is set manually. but either IP and name create these errors. I'm sending you the log file.

solved by moving the License manager from a Server 2012 Hyper-V VM to 2019 hardware server

I've got the same error, besides moving to a Hardware server any luck using a VM?
