Hi,
For these purposes, there is
Tint Override feature available under the
Forest Color map. Also, under
Material -
Color Tint you can find similar adjustments, but please note, that having
Tint Override marked under used
Forest Color map(s) this will always "override" these
Material -
Color Tint values.
There are several
Blending Modes available. If you are familiar with the
Composite map, these blending modes work in the same way. The default blending mode is set to
Color, which is good to give a desired color tint to your material, but not very handy for brightening etc. For example: By setting the
Random Strength from 25% to 25% and
Blending Mode -
Normal it'll produce same result as a
Composite map with that layer in
Normal mode and
Opacity set to 25. Please feel free to experiment with it.
Regarding the material handling, I would suggest you to check following "
general question about materials" post explaining Forest's material assignment work-flow. As mentioned there:
"... as general rule, we suggest to leave "Consolidate Materials" on (which is the default value), and modify directly the materials assigned in Geometry->Materials, or from the source object if this parameter is not specified (for Custom Objects, if material is not specified, Forest uses the material assigned to the source object)."As there is no unified system of materials / maps - any render engine has slightly different approach and any third-party vegetation models developer uses its own "material system", we have actually no plans to add another "Material Editor" as that'll overcomplicate it.
Hope that clears it up, but in case of any further question or doubt, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,
