Author Topic: Distribution path mode doesn't allow for different parameters of splines  (Read 5080 times)

Why doesn't the Path distribution mode give me the possibility to control 'spacing' for each different spline I choose? Spacing applies to all splines in the stack.

Isn't the point of adding different splines to have different spacing and other parameters?

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. These parameters apply to all paths. If you need to adjust them individually, you should create multiple Forest objects. Although we currently don't have plans to change this behavior, we'll evaluate it.

Well, that's sad.
The way you are suggesting makes a mess of a scene in which you have multiple different paths of the same plants, which "obviously" and naturally would have different spacing.

I hope it will be solved, or a workaround will be added that would involve just one Forest Pack, just as it is for other distribution methods.

Thanks for the feedback anyway.

As in a similar post about two days ago. Probably the best thing to do in this case is to apply Normalize Spline to set the vertex spacing and then put "In Vertex Position" in FP. If you need to keep the curve for other purposes, make it a reference and Normal Mod. up to it.
Alternatively, you can use RailClone.

Darn, good point good sir! Will check it out immediately.
Thanks!
