Rescale warning when opening files
« on: June 13, 2017, 05:01:44 PM »
We have an issue where we have created a forest object with xref models from our library. On initial setup it warns about scale mismatch, "The unit scale of the Xref object does not match the System Unit Scale" going from centimeters to inches,  and I say ok to match scene scale.

When opening this MAX file at a later time i get prompted about this on file open. Any way to make this stick other than changing the units of the origin files?

This is not an issue with merging the mesh which makes sense but we need to work with Xrefs.

MAX 2017 latest packs/updates + FP 3.5.2 + Vray 3.5.04

Thanks

Hi,

As mentioned in the "Xref Objects merged with mismatched units creates multiple pop-up dialogues" Autodesk Knowledge Network site:

"A workaround that prevents excessive pop-up dialogues (object xref system units mismatch, missing plug-ins) during scene load can be found here. This script is especially useful for 3ds Max versions 2016 and 2017, as having Xref scenes with different system unit settings will now open a pop-up window for each file."

Hope that helps.

Best regards,
