UV mode + areas?
« on: February 09, 2016, 04:36:59 PM »
Hey guys,

I am trying to scatter things on a fairly large sphere, but obviously using uv mode has its limitations. Are there anyway ways around this? I'd like to be able to use areas (or at least fake them) to create different "zones" on my sphere. I don't mind having to hack things around and so on, if need be - maybe even map things? I'm not sure what the best way to go about this is.

Kind regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

For these purposes I would recommend you to use a "custom" Distribution Map. Just take in mind, the Map Channel used by the Distribution Map is locked to 1. Attaching examples with a Checker map.

Hope that helps.
