Title: Max 2018 crashes sometimes when "library" button is pressed
Post by: SQ7408 on August 30, 2017, 01:54:56 AM
It doesn't happen all of the time, just when I haven't saved in a while :P

Anyways, is there something I can do about it?

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're facing these troubles. Did you install all available updates (under your Autodesk Account, go to 3ds Max > Downloads > Updates and Add-ons)? Can you please save and send us (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=3648.0)  the minidump file of the crash (https://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=1484.0)?

Thanks in advance for any additional feedback on this issue you can share about it with us / our user community.

Best regards,

Hi,

In order to check, if that's the same issue, would you mind to save and send us (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=3648.0)  the minidump file of the crash (https://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=1484.0)? Thanks in advance.

Hi Michal,

I've sent my mini dump over a week ago and have had no reply?

Cheers

Hi Rob,

Sorry to hear, you didn't receive my reply from Sep 13, 13:22 (attached below):

Thanks for the provided minidump file. We've analysed it and It's related to this problem mentioned on our forum (https://forum.itoosoft.com/railclone-pro-%28*%29/libraries-downloaded-by-an-older-version-of-the-update-manger-issue/):

"We've recently found a bug in the RC 3.0.8 when using libraries downloaded with initial versions of Update Manager. Until we fix it, please download all your libraries again in the following way:

1) Delete all content under C:\Users\<your windows user>\AppData\Local\Itoo Software\RailClone Pro
2) Remove the following registry key (by using the regedit.exe or by the attached .reg file): HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Itoo Software\Update Manager\Packages
3) Open the Update Manager (Start menu->Itoo Software->RailClone Pro->Update Manager), and download all necessary libraries.

That should fix the problem. It's not necessary to update the content on render nodes, because problem affects only the Library Browser.

We apologise for any inconvenience."

Hope that helps you and if there will be anything more we can help you with, please let us know. Have a great day.

Best regards,

Hi,

Let me add, that's already fixed in the RailClone 3.0.9 (https://forum.itoosoft.com/announcements/railclone-litepro-3-0-9/) published last week.

Best regards,
