Title: MAX Crashes during start of ForestPack sometimes and sometimes not
Post by: 3d-labor on June 09, 2021, 12:32:10 PM
II updated the driver for my Quadro P5000 recently to solve another AutoDESK software problem. I don´t know if this is the cause, but before I updated the driver I had no problem. Now MAX crashes  after clicking on  the ForestPro Button after starting a new scene or a scene, there no ForestPack object is in. If a scene has ForestObjects in it seems to work normal. Sometimes it also works on a new scene. Watching the monitor during the start of ForestPack the window of the create tab seems to shiver, and I know, if it shiver more than 2 sec. MAX wil crash. It seems it has to do with the creation of the ForestPack panel. Any suggestions or does somebody have the same issue?
New Driver is 462.59
ForestPack 7, MAX 2021

Several users have reported this issue, but we are unable to reproduce it.
Crash happens in the Max renaming layer process, when Forest creates its "forest_templates" layer. It happens only in Max 2021/2022.

Hopefully we could find a workaround which seems to solve it. We'll release a Forest update soon.
Meanwhile, please contact with our support team (https://secure.itoosoft.com/userpanel/contact_form) and they will send you a patch.

I installed the patch and I think, it works like a charm. I tried it with several files, which didn´t work before. Thank you very much, great support!

Great. I'm glad to know the patch works as expected.  ;)
