Hi All,
I modeled a surface in Maya to use for terrain, and imported into 3ds max via a FBX file. In Max, it exists as an editable poly with a turbosmooth modifier. When I try to use this as the surface to generate my forest, i get very strange results. The planes extend out past the sides of the surface, and the trees don't generate properly at all.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Please, try applying a Utilities->Reset Xform, usually that solves most of the Surface issues. In some cases, also would be needed to fix the normals using a Normal modifier.
