Bug forestpack 3dsmax flicker problem.
« on: January 16, 2018, 10:34:21 AM »
Hello,

Forestpack makes my 3dsmax 2018(+vray) buggy during rendering.
When I launch a render and click on a different tab (e.g. explorer, edge...) 3dsmax hangs and the windows start flickering. Only thing i can do then is killing the process.
This occurs also with scenes whitout any forest object.

Uninstalling forestpack solved the issue, but this ain't an option !

Here is a link to a video, I get the same results.

Anyone knows a fix for this?
(W10, max2018, latest vray, latest forestpack, latest graphic drivers nvidia)

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're facing these troubles. Is that behavior typical for any new scene or do you facing it with a specific one? We've done some additional testing, but we can't reproduce any similar troubles. Do you have the latest 2018.4 Update applied?

Thanks in advance for any further comments on this issue you can share with us / our user community.

Best regards,

Hello,

Yes with every scene, at most renders. (when I switch from tab/program or open a new program during rendering)
It happens quite randomly. with or without any FP element in the scene.
Update is applied. re-installing forestpack didn't help. :/

Hi,

We've done some additional testing on 3ds Max 2018.4, FP 5.4.1 & V-Ray 3.60.04, but as mentioned previously, we can't reproduce it. As up to now, we don't have this unwanted behavior reported by any other user, another plug-in(s) or script(s) might interfere.

Would you mind to specify, which other plug-ins and scripts are you using?

Please feel free to perform a fresh 3ds Max install just with our plug-in to check if there's any difference.

Once again, big thanks for your collaboration, your feedback is very important to us.

Best regards,
