Mirrored surfaces problem
« on: January 27, 2017, 08:53:56 AM »
Hi. After mirroring surfaces with assigned Forest object, those surfaces
are not recognized by Forest objects any more.
Re-assign doesn`t work. No way to make them work again.
After creating brand new surface and assign it to Forest object, it works again.

Hi Josef,

It sounds like, the mirrored surface has inverted normals. As mentioned in this "Weird problem with FP - not scattering on poly at all" tightly related post: "... Surface has flipped faces (thought in the view-port it doesn't seem so - please feel free to do some additional testing with the xView - Face Orientation tool or a 2Sided material) ... in similar cases Flip normals > Reset XForm - Reset Selected > Convert to Editable Poly should fix it."

Hope that helps.

Best regadrs,
