Missing geometry objects on library import
« on: July 12, 2021, 04:11:10 PM »
Hi,

I've noticed that when you import previously saved Forest Pack geometry from library it looses some items.
Further investigation lead to conclusion that it only looses geometry objects that were used more than once on the geometry list (all the copies to be specific, the first instance of each geometry isn't lost).
The copied geometry's entries and their materials are present on the geometry list but the "Custom Object" field is empty.
I've tested a couple of variations e.g. with or without materials, merging or xrefing geometry, same or different Color IDs, regular geometry and vray proxies.
None of the above changes did affect the behavior of FP, meaning it was still loosing objects.

If you merge the whole FP object from source scene or paste it using Itoo's modified copy+paste script, everything is fine - no missing geometry.

Is there any solution to this?

Tested on max2015, max2018, Forest Pack 6.2.4, Forest Pack 7.1.2

Best regards,
Przemek
