Title: Mixing libraries?
Post by: EU7057 on March 30, 2017, 06:50:46 PM
I want to play with mixing two grass types, short grass in field areas and longer grass on the edges. Do I create 2 Forest objects with different splines and have them overlap? What's the best way to combine/mix Forest libraries?

Hi,

Probably the easiest way would be to mix these Forest objects by using the Falloff - Density (& Scale) feature, which allows you to Edit the Curve and set the distance. By activating the Inverse Curve Falloff Affect option over the second object, you'll easily complement the first Forest object. Attaching a sample scene.

Please feel free to have a look at the "Blur: Creating Parametric environments for Mafia III with Forest Pack (https://www.itoosoft.com/stories/blur-creating-parametric-environments-for-mafia-iii-with-forest-pack)" case study, where several adjusts of the Falloff feature were widely used. Hope you'll find it interesting and helpful.

Best regadrs,
