Modify the animation offset of specific tree ?
« on: March 19, 2016, 11:48:42 AM »
Hello everyone,
I am working on a large forest project with many animated trees, grass, flowers.
Is it possible to modify the offset frame of animation of one specific tree for closeup shots ? I want to precise control the animation of some trees in frames. I don't want to control the offset animation of just one to five trees by texturemap. It's best for me to write a maxscript tool to modify the offset value of each tree.

By the way, does the point cloud display mode show the animation accurately as the final render ?

I hope you can tell me soon.

Hi,

The easiest & quickest way would be to separate those items into a new Forest object by Tree Editor - Custom Edit - Detach - Detach Selection.

Yes, being the Animate Only at Render Time disabled, the preview (any view-port mode used) corresponds to the "actual frame".

Best regards,
